The Benefits Of Blackout Eyelet Curtains

Why Choose Blackouts

You may be curtains for the very first time as you’ve just moved into your first home of your own and are thinking about buying new curtains and are unsure about the best way to hang them. The type of curtain that we choose now will help us during our day to day lives without realising it so read on before you buy.

The Benefits

Blackout eyelet curtains have so many benefits you will wonder why you have not dressed all your windows with them. Let’s take a look at the benefits of blackout eyelet curtains.

  • Blackout curtains block out daylight as they are thermally insulated. With global warming making summers hotter blackout curtains can keep the heat of the blazing sun from making your rooms too hot and uncomfortable. When you keep the curtains closed you are blocking out the light and the sun and this helps to keep your rooms cooler.
  • They are especially helpful in keeping the light out of rooms where it is needed such as children’s bedrooms as it helps them sleep when it goes dark. In summer when it stays light till late children may not be able to sleep as it still seems like daytime. The blackout curtains can help their brain to think its night time so they may sleep earlier and sleep for longer hours. Blackout curtains are also good for those people who do shift work and cannot sleep when its light outside.
  • They can help protect things in your home like your furniture in a conservatory or books on book shelving by keeping the UV light from making them change colour and fade.
  • Heavier duty blackout curtains can help block unwanted noise from outside such as traffic if you live on a busy street.
  • The thermal lining helps keep the warmth in winter and so may help keep the bills down.
  • Eyelet curtains are so much better than curtains with hooks as the pole just slides through the holes making them easy to hang and take down to wash. There are no fussy hooks to undo before they go into the washing machine and then having to put them back on when they are dry and ironed.
  • Eyelet curtains help give the curtains uniform folds when they hang unlike hooked curtains as each eyelet hole usually has the same distance between them. Hooked curtains can be bothersome as when you try to spread the hooks out you nearly always find that you have to undo some and move them inner of further as the spread is not right. You then have to tug at the slot as it is too tight to get your hook in.
  • When you close eyelet curtains they just glide together on the pole unlike curtains with hooks that you sometimes tend have to tug to pull them together.
  • Eyelet curtains look so much more contemporary and sleeker as the metal ring that goes around the holes makes them look trendy.
  • Having blackout curtains with eyelet holes combines functionality with style and makes life so much easier for the person responsible for taking them down and washing them.

Review

These Blackout curtains by Pony Dance are just perfect for keeping out the daylight as well as the evening light from street lamps. With the thermal blackout lining on the inner they work perfectly as the colour you choose is the same on the outer side.

The colour choice is really extensive so too is the size range. You can basically do the whole house as the sizes are that vast in range. They can be used in a bedroom, lounge, kitchen, conservatory, office, nursery, hall, landing etc.

They hang nicely too with pleats but you need to order the correct width 1.5-2.6 the size of your curtain pole to get the proper fullness to see the pleats.

The blackout eyelet curtains are easy to wash in the washing machine. You can tumble dry them on low temperatures and iron them on a low temperature.

Score

The blackout eyelet curtains get 10/10 for their quality, their choice of colours and sizes and the price.
